I have bitten the proverbial bullet and registered a business name - The Purple Marker. So once I had committed to that, I figured I had better make a start on changing my life and how I want it to unfold. Here goes!
The birth of the Purple Marker
After a great deal of procrastination, I decided on playing about with business names; illuminARTY, Paula's Paint Party, pARTycipation etc. but none of those struck me as suitable. I started to ponder what I use most in my primary school classroom and it dawned on me, that as my favourite colour is purple and I do loads of marking, it had to be something along those lines. A little mundane, but here's the thing. My initials are PM and so are the initials for Purple Marker. A sign from above.
I have sat at my laptop all day working on my webpage and what I hope to achieve from this whole endeavour and have started to come up with a few ideas on how things should go.
Start with a business name, get it registered, work on a terrific website, learn about adding apps, linking to my social media accounts and writing my first blog post.
I am hoping that by word of mouth, I can lure wonderful social butterflies into my classes to enjoy a fun-filled afternoon with music, colour, skills and plenty of purple paint. Don't panic if you're not a fan of purple, I teach in loads of colours really. I am hoping to start out with simple paintings and progress to ceramics, sculptures and even glow-in-the-dark arts.
I think I need to come up with aims, values and mission statements etc. So much to do, but with the start of a new financial year, I am up for the challenge.
I hope you'll join me through my blog or on my social pages. Even more, I hope you will join me for a giggle, loads of fun, and a spark of creativity in the art classes.
